I must be honest, I’ve never been particularly tempted by postage stamps before, despite some of them being very beautiful indeed, but when I opened this bound collection of vintage stamps I was completely taken with them! I think it has to do with the subject matter of a lot of the illustrations, which focus on the space race and the olympics – two very interesting topics that make for some really striking designs! My overall favourites are the stamps produced by Polska (Poland) – they must have had some super talented artists working for them in the 1960s! – but the Russian stamps come a close second. I even love the later 198o’s Kiwi stamps which focus on New Zealand’s research in the Antarctic. To be honest, they’re all pretty cool – each page you turn reveals dozens of amazing designs!
A real treat for any graphic design enthusiasts, or of course any philatelists out there!
Note: There appears to be a name on the outside cover which I can’t quite make out, but rather bizarrely the name appears on the back cover of the book, not the front
Dimensions: Album measures 25cm long x 18cm wide x 3cm deep
