Vintage Kitchen Tins

I couldn’t photograph these tins against my usual backdrop because the tall red striped tin is bloody massive! It had an old ‘sugar’ label on it which makes me think that its previous owner must have died of a coronary – how could you ever need that much sugar! But it is a cool tin, although perhaps better suited to something like flour, but even then you’re going to have to be serious about your baking to need that much flour! And once you’ve baked all those cakes you can use the red cake tin with the removable bottom to store one of your tasty creations in! And then if your kiddiwink has been extra good you can put a slice of cake in the yellow lunch box for school – although I think these days most schools wisely try to avoid giving kids sugar at lunchtime!

Note: All of the tins have some wear and tear, with the red cake tin being quite badly scratched. The cake tin also has one or two dings in the lid. The cake tin is the only tin stamped ‘Goodhope Ware’.
