When I look online I’m always amazed at how much mad cool kitchenalia countries like America have, but in South Africa items like this vintage Juice-King are pretty hard to come by! Which is why I jumped at the chance to buy it, despite its rather sorry state. The base of the juicer has cracked at some point, and someone (rather ingeniously) has added a block of wood underneath the base to offer it support. As naive a carpentry job as it is, it’s actually not horribly noticeable – I’m not saying that you can’t see the repair job, you can, but it’s definitely not the first thing that you see – what you really notice is how handsome this juicer is! I love the fact that it’s red (always a great colour in a kitchen), and that it’s complete – often the cups are missing from these vintage juicers. It obviously has some serious wear & tear issues, but it’s still functional and super good looking kitchen accessory!
P.S. As cool as this juicer is, it’s not going to be as effective as a modern day appliance, but who cares when it’s this handsome!
