From what I’ve read, it seems that this vintage apothecary-style vase comes from Empoli in Italy. Like Murano, Empoli is an area in Italy famous for its glass blowing. This vase may seem slightly old fashioned, although personally I think the deep purple colour is special enough to save it – just think how fabulous it would look grouped together with other vintage coloured glass! And aside from the colour, the glass is so delicate it could only ever have been made by someone who really knew what they were doing – this really is a beautifully blown piece of glass!
A great piece of mid-century glass in immaculate condition.
P.S. A very similar jar is currently for sale on Etsy for $155!
