How impressive is this collection of silver rings! They all belonged to the same (glamorous!) German lady. I was fortunate enough to be able to buy them from her daughter, who was downsizing. She told me that she clearly remembers her mother wearing these rings when she was a child, saying that she thought they dated to around the 1920s, with the more detailed rings being a bit older. Apparently the ring with the flat (agate?) stone was designed so that you could have your family crest engraved into it – a lovely idea, but personally I really like the stone plain – it shows off the setting, with those unusual claws appearing to hold the stone in place. Of course all of the rings are really beautiful, but my personal favourites are the amber and green rings – the square and round designs. And it seems I’m in good company – those were Barbara’s mother’s favourites too!
P.S. Most of the rings are around a size P, with the square amber ring being the largest, estimated at a size Q. I have medium sized fingers (I think!), and the rings all fitted either my wedding or middle fingers
