This is the first time that I’ve come across the name Digoin & Sarreguemines, the French pottery house responsible for this fantastic water jug. They’ve got a bit of history to them, with the factory going back some 200 years, but this jug’s obviously a bit newer than that – the maker’s mark dates it to sometime between 1938 and 1965. There’s some minor wear to the printed Marie Brizard on the one side of the jug, as one well as a faint stain along the base, but it’s in good condition for it’s fifty or so years. And how fantastic is that spout – it’s got to be the craziest ice spout* I’ve ever come across!
*An ice spout is designed to catch the ice, so that it stays in the jug and keeps your water cool.
Note: The jug is pale blue, not white
Dimensions: approx. 19cm tall x 13cm in diameter (at its widest)
