I seldom buy pieces of luggage – I know that there’s a good market for suitcases, but personally I generally don’t see the attraction, and I find it hard to sell something that don’t love. But when I spotted today’s suitcase, which I think must date to the art deco period, it was pretty difficult not to be impressed! The brass fittings (which we’ve polished, so sadly won’t look this shiny forever!) really make it stand out, and I love that lucite handle. It even has its original luggage tag and key! Obviously because of its age there are some signs of wear, including a few minor tears on the outside of the suitcase, but I don’t think that there’s anything that detracts too much from the good looks of this piece. Also, its a surprisingly light suitcase (often vintage luggage weighs a ton!), so could even be used for your next holiday – just imagine the looks you’ll get at the airport as you walk through the arrivals lounge with this beauty!
