I come across a surprising amount of enamel potties on my travels, but don’t often buy them. They’re normally always quite pricey, and given that most of us are lucky enough to have indoor plumbing these days, they’re also not that useful! But I do think that they make for very attractive planters, especially when they’re super decorative like this vintage Polish version! I think it’s probably got some proper age to it and as a result is quite seriously worn, but if you’re going to use it to plant a few kitchen herbs that’s not really the end of the world – in fact the one or two holes in the base of the potty should actually help with drainage!
A character-filled piece of vintage enamelware that will look right at home sitting in your courtyard or on your verandah.
