Vicky (the hardworking lady who cleans all of our treasure) was very confused as to why we weren’t sanding this chair down to get rid of all of the peeling paint, but I think there’s something quite charming about it just the way it is! We did give it a good scrub to try and get rid of the paint that was flaking off (we don’t want paint all over your child’s bedroom!) – hopefully were were successful, but I can’t guarantee that more paint won’t come off with general wear and tear – I think that paint’s quite old. If it does become an issue I don’t think it would take a lot to remove the remaining paint, and even though the wood’s definitely got some age to it, I’m sure that it would come up just fine with a quick sand and a coat of varnish.
P.S. Lambert and Monkey are the creations of my clever friend Caryn Tilbury, who sadly has left us for England, but if you know of any deserving kids in that part of the world perhaps she could be convinced to add some more creatures to her animal family…..
