Vintage Children’s Games (Each)

The condition of today’s vintage games is pretty decent given that they probably date to around the 1950s! Both are very simple games to play, but can also be a bit tricky, so should be able to be played by both younger and older kids – and possibly even adults, depending on their mood (a few drinks in I’m sure some grown ups would find these games very entertaining indeed)! Lexicon is a word game – each player gets a set number of cards with which to make words. The player who gets rid of all their cards the fastest wins – so you need to have a good vocabulary and be a super speedy thinker! Tell Me is a quiz game with a twist – the cards ask questions (including a few rather bizarre ones!), but your answer is dependant on the letter you spin – land on the letter ‘x’ (the dreaded x!) and your answer has to begin with an ‘x’! Sounds pretty fun to me!

P.S. Both games are still being sold today, with ‘Lexicon’ still being made by Waddingtons. ‘Tell Me’ was originally manufactured by Spears (who are famous for Scrabble), but is now being sold under another brand.

Also, if board games are your thing, make sure you get yourself down to Breezeblock this Friday for Games Night! It really is a fabulous night out!!
