You have to laugh at the ridiculousness of this name – ‘The Un-Candle‘ – really, what were they thinking?? I’m not that surprised that this product from Pyrex didn’t become a global sensation, with a name like that! I actually quite like the design though – it’s very simple, if not a little impractical – it seems that you would use a combination of water and vegetable oil, and then float your wicks in the fluid. The round ‘candied apple’ light seems to be complete, with loads of spare wicks to keep you going (you’d just need to add a bit of sunflower oil), but the taller, hooped holders are missing an insert that allows you to float your wicks. All is not lost though because you could still use them as candle holders, you’d just need to buy yourself some large tealight candles (the standard, smaller tealights are too small- although you could always float them in water). If you didn’t want the hassle of pouring oils, you could also use the ‘apple’ for a tealight candle – super simple, and I think super attractive!
P.S. You can also repurpose the hooped ‘un-candles’ as vases
