This is one spectacular little vase! It looks like a piece of Murano glass made using the sommerso technique – where coloured glass is dipped into clear molten glass, although sometimes you do find multiple layers of colour, where one colour is dipped in to a second or third colour.
What’s special about this vase, aside from its condition (which is near mint!), is the colour – you don’t often see yellow Murano glass. And as lovely as it looks in the photos, I think the colour is even more fabulous in the flesh – it really is quite special! On the downside though, it is quite a petite vase, but I suppose you can’t have everything!
P.S. A purple version of this vase is currently for sale on Rubylane for a whopping €160 (R2300!)
