I just can’t get enough of coloured glass, it’s just so beautiful! Especially when it’s an expertly crafted piece of glass, like today’s Murano ‘sommerso’ vase, with its layers of green and yellow glass. Sadly the differentiation in the colours doesn’t show up quite as clearly in normal light, but it’s still a great piece of glassblowing, and in good condition for its sixty odd years. There are some scratches to the base, as well as a few small nicks in the body of the vase, but on the whole I’d say it’s in really good condition for it’s age.
A classically beautiful piece of Murano that would look fantastic with some light shining behind it.
P.S. A purple version of today’s vase is for sale online for €75 – around R1200
