Small Cloisonné Ashtrays (Per Ashtray)

Again cloisonné isn’t the type of style that I’d ordinarily have in my home, but I can’t help but appreciate the beauty of this style of decoration, and how crazy intricate it is! Can you imagine how long it takes? Bending all those copper wires and then filling in the spaces with the enamel paste? I’d have to dedicate a year of my life just to make one! I also really like the blue enamel that cloisonné-wear always seems to be finished with – such a great colour! Theres some damage to the maroon enamel in the form of some tiny holes in the metal, and the brass edges could do with a good polish, but they’ve got some age to them so a bit of wear’s to be expected.

Dimensions: Each ashtray measures 8cm in diameter x 5cm tall
