Is it peculiar that I quite like the dents on this vintage Galleon silver plated water jug? I know that most people would be put off by the damage, but for some reason I quite like the wear – I think maybe because it shows the life of the jug, that despite the silver being nice and bright, this jug has a bit of age to it. It’s also a very pretty pitcher with beautifully detailed feet, and a nice ice spout. There’s some strange, rather naive, engraving on the base that I’m not really sure what to make of, but fortunately it’s not visible unless you pick the jug up and look underneath it.
A wonderful silver plated jug that would make a fine addition to an afternoon cocktail session on a hot summer’s day – just substitute caipirinha for water and you’ll have some very happy guests!
