I think a lot of people would probably turn their nose up at the state of this silver plated water jug – over the years the plating has all but worn away, revealing the copper underneath. Personally I don’t mind it when this happens with vintage silverware – I think it adds a bit of a story, and I quite like the look of the copper showing through – but it’s not for everyone. Other than the wear to the silver, the jug’s actually in pretty decent nick – no dings or bumps, and the inside of the jug is nice and clean, so it’s definitely still a functional item. Of course you could always use it for flowers if the faded silver offends you – it would make for a very pretty vase!
