For the life of me I can’t make out the signature on these wonderful vintage prints – I’ve tried to Google all sorts of variations of the letters, but with absolutely no luck, so I’m really hoping that one of our subscribers is able to decipher the name for us! Luckily though, I didn’t buy the prints because I thought that they were by a well known artist (although they quite possibly are), but rather because I really liked the style of the illustrations. They were quite difficult images to photograph though, firstly because of the glass frames, but also because the base of the images is a metallic gold colour, which means that they reflect the light even more! Hopefully though I’ve been able to properly capture just how lovely this pair are – I particularly like the contrast of the stylised bird with the quite realistically drawn flower – the juxtaposition of the two styles works really well!
NB: Sadly the one print has some slight damage. When we bought it the glass was missing, which has resulted in the print becoming scratched, but with the new glass covering it you don’t really notice the damage too much. Also both frames are missing two of their clips, but they work just fine as they are, and unless it’s pointed out I don’t think anyone would notice that’s something’s amiss
Dimensions: Each print measures 50.5cm tall x 38cm wide x 1cm deep
