I love this folksy style of illustration that’s so immediately recognisable as vintage Scandinavian design. This cake plate produced by Figgjo Flint of Norway was designed by Turi Gramstadt Oliver in the 1960s and is referred to as the Lotte pattern. The pattern proved so successful that it was reproduced in the early ’70s, so I can’t say exactly when this plate dates to, although going on the logo, I suspect that it might have been one of the later editions.
A great retro pattern from a very respected Scandinavian designer.
