Retro Scandi Oven Dish

Obviously not all Scandinavian design appeals to everyone (although personally I think those people are fools!)  – when I excitedly showed this fabulous Stavangerflint oven dish to Justin he thought I was a bit loopy! I know the design’s a bit mad, but it’s unmistakably a piece of retro Scandi pottery, and with a pattern name like Flamingo Bambus, how could you not love it! The pattern was deigned in 1955 by Inger Waage, which would make this dish just over 60 years old, although I suspect they probably produced the pattern for a good few years, but even so you’re looking at a piece of ovenware decades old and still in excellent condition! There are a few marks along the rim of the dish, and on the base, but all of the marks are manufacturing defects that would have been caused by the firing process.

A very collectible and great quality Norwegian oven dish that would make a fine addition to your collection of cookware.
