This is one spectacular pair of lights! They were manufactured by Italian lighting designers, Targetti Sankey, presumably sometime during the late 1960s or early 1970s. They’re unusual in terms of the types of lights that Targetti normally produce – we have a set of chrome Targetti ball lights in our kitchen, which are far more in keeping with the industrial style that Targetti are so well known for. So being made of glass (and green glass at that!) makes these pendant lights even more special, and presumably even more valuable, which is saying something – Targetti designs can sell for a small fortune! An impressive selection of Targetti lights currently for sale on 1stdibs.com range in price from $235 (R3100) all the way to a whopping $8900 (R120 000)!
Note: We’ve replaced the globe fitting and cable, but the rest of the lights, including the ceiling roses (which are a bit scratched), are original. Also please note that the one light has a small chip along its rim (see photos)
Dimensions: Each glass shade measures 31cm tall x 17cm in diameter; Lights measure 110cm tall incl. cord and ceiling rose
