At first glance I think you’d assume that these glass tumblers are from the ’80s, and maybe if I didn’t know where they came from I’d have carried on thinking that, but given that they came from the same house as that vintage bar set that we sold earlier this week, along with the jadeite Fire-King bowls, and a number of other items from the ’50s and ’60s, I think it’s safe to assume that they’re a fair bit older than they look! From a bit of research that I’ve done it looks like they’re American, made by a company called Libbey that’s been in operation since the late 1800s, with this gingham pattern dating to sometime around the 1960s. It’s great that we’ve got a complete set of eight glasses, and even better that they’re in mint condition!
P.S. An identical set of six of these tumblers is currently for sale on Etsy for $40, so it would seem that they’re fairly collectible….
Dimensions:Each glass measures 8cm tall x 8cm in diameter
