The style of this German Thomas coffee pot is very simple, but also quite beautiful! Thomas were originally part of Porzellanfabrik Jaeger, Thomas & Co, a porcelain factory that first opened its doors in 1898. In 1906 Thomas became a subsidiary of Rosenthal, and in 1971 the factory closed its doors, although they continued to manufacture under the Thomas name until  2004 when Rosenthal finally had the trademark registrations erased. Because of this it’s difficult to tell when this dish dates from, but looking at the maker’s mark and the design of the coffee pot, I’d say it’s a newer piece, possibly dating to the late ’70s or early ’80s.

Regardless of its age, it’s a very attractive and great quality coffee pot in excellent condition!
