This is one seriously stylish table! In fact while its made from fibreglass (filled with cement – it weighs an absolute ton!), and could easily live outside on a verandah, I think it’s stylish enough to also work as an indoor dining room table. It looks a lot like the Tulip table designed as part of the ‘Pedestal Collection‘ by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1957, but rather unusually today’s table has a triangular pronged base, and there’s a chrome collar that’s missing from the Tulip version. It’s definitely an original retro piece though, and has some signs of wear that show its age. Most notably the base of the table has a bit of damage to the one foot, which could probably be disguised relatively easily with a touch of white enamel paint. There’s also some minor wear to the finish, in the form of scuff marks to the table top, as well as where the two parts of the top join. But even with the wear the overall look of this table is still relatively clean – and super stylish!
