There are no maker’s stamps on this set of copper vases, so I can only go on what the seller told me – according to him this style of beaten copper was quite popular in the Cape, so that’s where he thinks they were made. Personally I don’t really know anything about vintage copper, so your guess is as good as mine. It is an attractive set though, with great retro styling – I particularly like the jug, with its slender shape and brass handle. All three of the pieces are much lighter than you’d expect them to be, so I don’t know what that says about their quality, but I suppose it’s really the design that you’re going for with this set.
A wonderful collection that will look great on your bookshelf or kitchen shelf.
