You can barely make it out, but the bottom of this super retro casserole dish is stamped with the name ‘Fielding‘, a name that I’ve never come across before. When I googled it I immediately came up with Crown Devon – it seems Simon Fielding started Crown Devon, and the company traded under his name for the first forty years or so, before changing their name. I’m not convinced though that this is a Crown Devon piece, it’s just not in keeping with the style of Crown Devon pieces that I’ve seen before, so I’m not really sure where it comes from, but I know that regardless of who made it, I love it! It has that great retro turquoise glaze, and I just love the illustration! There’s a minor mark on the handle, but aside from that it’s in excellent condition, which is impressive given that it must be at least 60 or so years old!
Note: This casserole dish is a bit smaller than your standard casserole dish – see dimensions below
Dimensions: 23cm long (incl. handles) x 21.5cm wide x 11xm tall (with lid on)
