These are some of the more expensive demijohns that I’ve bought, but I was happy to pay the price to buy two of them at one go, plus I love the fact that the guy who owned them before used them to make his own booze at home – until recently! I’m pretty sure that there aren’t too many people making their own bootleg liquor in their backyards these days! Ha ha! But while these oversized bottles aren’t really in use anymore, they do make great decor pieces – their size makes them fantastic statement pieces, and if you’re brave you can also drill a hole in the base and convert them into lamps. I have one that’s already been converted into a lamp that sits on the sideboard in our dining room, and it looks fabulous (at least I think it does!).
Note: Both of the bottles have a few scratches (but nothing too serious), and the taller green demijohn has a line that runs around its midriff (a result of the glassblowing process).
Dimensions: Taller green demijohn – Approx. 50cm tall x 32cm wide x 22cm deep; Olivey-brown demijohn – Approx. 46cm tall x 32cm wide x 22cm deep
