Original Anglepoise Lamp

I paid quite a bit more for this lamp than I would ordinarily do, but knowing that it was an original Herbert Terry Anglepoise lamp, I was prepared to pay almost anything to get my hands on it! I’ve bought a few of these lamps before, but they’re really not that common, and are always pretty pricey – original Angleposie lamps are still manufactured today with new models selling for as much as R10 000! Even vintage models sell for a pretty penny – this later model, the Apex 90, generally sells for around R1300.

Note: The metal base has corroded slightly and someone’s tried to fix it with a dodgy paint job. The inside of the hood has also yellowed a bit from age.
