I have a bit of a weakness for nesting tables, but they’re not that common, which invariably means that I have to pay a premium for them, but of course I think they’re worth it! I’m not sure how old this set of chrome and glass tables are? My guess would be that they date to the late ’70s or early 1980s, so around thirty to forty years old – not bad nick for their years, aren’t they? There are some scratches to the glass, most notably on the largest of the tables, but the chrome legs are in pretty decent condition. You can still see the spots where the steel tubing has been joined together, which makes me think that they may have been made by someone in their workshop? Although they also look quite mass produced, so I’m really not certain. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter – they’re a very attractive, and relatively hard to come by set that will look fantastic in a contemporary setting.
NB: These tables aren’t that large so please pay particular attention to the dimensions below. Also note that the tables are only for sale in Joburg.
