Mikasa Coffee Pot

And here we have the matching coffee pot to the Mikasa cups and saucers that we sold the other day. Bizarrely I didn’t buy them at the same time, so I thought it would also make sense to sell them separately, which turned out to be a good thing – the Mint customer who bought the cups (hello Helena!) bought the coffee pot from me years ago, so was delighted to have finally found the matching cups and saucers. So now it’s someone else’s turn to buy the coffee pot, and wait it out for the matching crockery – although this is such a handsome coffee pot that I don’t think it needs the distraction of the matching set – it works just fine by itself!

P.S. For interest sake – Mikasa was a Japanese brand that was developed solely for export, with their wares being sold in the likes of Bloomingdales and Macy’s. They’re a fairly collectible name, with this 1960s Mediterrania Expresso Brown coffee pot selling for upwards of $60
