Mid-Century Dutch Tea & Coffee Pots (Each)

R150.00R168.00

I know that I probably (definitely!) paid way too much for these retro Dutch tea and coffee pots, given that they’re not in the best condition, but I fell in love with their striking angles, and fantastic blue wrapped handles! Going on the fact that I can’t seem to find them for sale anywhere online, I think that they’re probably quite an unusual pair.

Royal Dutch Pewter, the company responsible for them, made a great deal of tea and coffee pots, although most of the pieces they produced were far more traditional in design. They did manufacture an identical version to today’s set, but with teak handles (also seriously beautiful!), and there are a few of these sets for sale, but oddly none with the unusual blue handles.

Perhaps there were fewer blue sets made, and so less of them have survived? I’m not sure, but regardless the reason I’m delighted that our set has survived intact all these years – even with the scratches, and one or two minor dings, these pots are still completely functional, and if you can’t see yourself ever using them, you know that they’ll look incredible on display – these are proper works of art!

Dimensions: Taller coffee pot – 31cm tall x 10cm in diameter; Shorter teapot – 24cm tall x 10cm in diameter
