I know what you’re thinking, another stovetop coffee pot! But I just can’t help myself – if they’re in good nick and reasonably priced I just have to buy them! I’m always astounded at how expensive they are new, so to me it makes sense to buy them second hand – they may not be as shiny, but they’ll do just as good a job! Plus money aside, for me there’s something very attractive about these coffee pots, especially ones like this stainless steel Carmencita Lavazza model, which is a bit sleeker than your more standard aluminium version. I like the way the handle protrudes, and how solid it feels to pick up. The seal on the inside is quite hard, so could probably do with replacing sometime soon, and there are a few scratches here and there, but on the whole it’s in decent nick, and well worth it for the couple of hundred bucks you’ll likely save!
NB: This is a small moka pot – probably the size of two espresso cups….
