I have to say, as much as I love Durbs (and I really do love it!), I’m pretty grateful for Joburg’s mild summers! But even in this rather temperate heat there are still a few nights when you could do with the gentle breeze of a fan on your skin (as opposed to the hurricane-style wind that you’d wish for in Durban!). And a fan like this old-schol KDK would do just the trick – in fact if it’s the hurricane wind you’re after, it’ll work just fine as well! It reminds me a bit of the type of fan my gran had when were kids, so it’s probably got a bit of age to it, but we’re probably talking late’70s/early ’80s, not any earlier. It’s a big hunk of a machine, nothing really svelte about it, but it’s super powerful and there’s still a certain a handsomeness to it.
Note: I’m away for a week or two, and didn’t get a chance to take measurements before I left, so I’m afraid I can’t tell you exactly how big or small this fan is. My apologies! But going on the size of previous fans that I’ve sold I’d guess that it measures approx. 50cm tall x 37cm in diameter (across grill) x 23cm deep (at base)
