The problem with putting up items for sale every day is that I don’t always have the time to do proper research. Like I’m pretty convinced that this large ‘urn’ is Scandinavian in design, but I haven’t been able to find out in the short space of time that I’ve had to hunt for it! The cased glass is something that you often see with retro Holmegaard glass, and the design of the lip reminds me a lot of pieces by Finnish glass makers, Nuutajarvi. But one thing I can say for certain is that whoever made it sure knew what they were doing – it’s really quite beautiful!
P.S. I recently bought an orange version of this vase, and immediately knew that it was Italian – I don’t know where my head was when I was writing about this teal version – my apologies! I thought that it was a piece of Empoli glass, but another dealer believes that it’s Murano and was made by Carlo Moretti
