Large Antique Porcelain Jug

R380.00

It took me forever to work out the maker’s mark on the base of this fabulous water pitcher, partly because of the wear to the stamp, which isn’t that surprising given that it dates to sometime between 1901 and 1913! You’d also be a bit fuzzy if you were over a hundred years old! I assume that this English Clementson Bros pitcher would originally have been part of set, with a matching basin for washing up – these basin and jug sets were vital before the popularisation of indoor plumbing! For its age the jug is in fantastic condition – there’s a bit of wear to that wonderful graduated turquoise glaze, but not a chip or hairline crack in sight, which I think is pretty remarkable!

A wonderful display piece that would also make a great vase for a large bunch of country flowers!

Dimensions: 28cm tall x 20cm in diameter

P.S. Unfortunately this item is too large for one of our courier packets, so will need to be boxed. To save on shipping costs, we’re happy to combine other items at no additional courier fee
