I don’t think I’ve seen a vase quite like this before! The shape’s not terribly unusual – although not super common either – but it’s the glass itself that I find so fascinating. It reminds me of those Woolies speckled chocolate eggs! I’m not sure of its age, although there’s a fair amount of wear to the base of the vase, and it’s clearly handblown with an obvious pontil mark, but the style of the vase doesn’t really give anything away. It could have been made in the ’50s or just as easily yesterday? Regardless, it’s a very attractive piece of glass, with the most lovely shade of green, and the most satisfying shape – something about it just makes me want to cup it in my hands!
