Hamilton Beach Mixer

I don’t think you get a better looking kitchen appliance than these vintage chrome Hamilton Beach mixers – they remind me of the American Airstream trailers, which makes sense given that they come from the same part of the world and date to more or less the same period: the first Airstream hit the roads in 1936, with the ‘Model K’ Hamilton Beach mixer arriving on the scene in 1938. I suspect though, that today’s mixer is bit newer than that, but we’re likely still talking about a kitchen appliance that’s 50-plus years old, and still in good working order! Sadly it’s missing it’s smaller bowl, but you do see these for sale at thrift shops from time to time, so keep your eyes peeled! Also my good friend Debbie tried it out on a pudding the other day, and the bowl didn’t spin automatically – we suspect though that that may be the result of her batter being a bit too thin. But why not judge for yourself – to watch the HB beaters in action click here!

Dimensions: Height of mixer – 27cm; Base – 18cm wide x 33cm long
