I’ve been hunting for one of these Finel coffee percolators for ages now – the last time I found one was nearly two years ago! I do see them for sale from time to time, but they’re nearly always out of my price range, and more often than not are missing their percolator parts. This is the smaller version of this percolator, and while it is complete it does have signs of wear & tear – but so would you after 60 years of hard labour! Actually, it’s possible that it’s a bit newer than that, but it still has some serious miles under its belt – the Pehtoori coffee pot was designed in 1957 by Antti Nurmesniemi for Arabia, but proved so popular that it stayed in production until 1977, and I can’t be certain where on the datelines this pot sits, but fair to say it has a bit of age to it. The white enamel on the inside of the pot has yellowed a bit with age, and most noticeably the clear plastic lid is quite blurry and scratched. there are also a few chips in the red enamel, but it’s still a very attractive piece, wit the majority of the wear being on the inside of the pot, so luckily hidden from sight!
P.S. There’s a Pehtoori coffee pot for sale on eBay for a whopping R4000!
