Dutch Cast-Iron Pots (Each)

I’m completely head over heels in love with these Dutch cast-iron pots! I probably paid a bit too much for them, but to be honest, I would have paid even more – that’s how lovely I think they are! They were made by De Koninklijke Diepenbrock en Reigers of Ulft (DRU), one of the oldest industrial companies in the Netherlands. DRU started out in 1754 producing cast-iron goods, but switched to making gas fireplaces and wall heaters in the early 1960s when natural gas was discovered in the area. Which makes today’s pots in the region of sixty-plus years old! Obviously there are a few dings in the enamel, particularly with the oval casserole dish, but the inside of the pots is beautifully clean, with a lovely sheen! Plus even with the wear, that particular shade of pale turquoise is so special, that for me it completely negates any damage!

A great quality and really beautiful bit of cookware that if cared for well should last for generations to come!

Dimensions: Oval pot – 30cm long (incl. handles) x 20cm wide x 15cm tall (with lid on); Round pot – 21cm in diameter x 13cm tall (with lid on)
