This is yet another piece from our personal collection that we sadly no longer have a spot for. She was bought on auction about fifteen years ago, and I think at the time cost exactly what we’re selling for her today (which in today’s money is probably quite a lot more) – so she definitely wasn’t a basement bargain! But I fell head over heels in love with her, and justifiably so – she looked absolutely incredible in our hundred year old apartment with its high ceilings and leaded windows. And when we moved into our contemporary, brand new home, she also worked surprisingly well! She’s a wonderful quality bronze, although I’m fairly certain that she’s a reproduction, and from my memory was sold to us as such. She’s still beautifully made though, with lovely details in the feet and hands.
A very special figurine that makes for a really spectacular centrepiece!
