Rich in copper, Rhodesia (now Zambia) were huge exporters of copper ware back in the day – in fact 90% of the copper pieces that I find are stamped ‘Rhodesia’. Some of the items are pretty run of the mill, and others a bit more interesting, like this unusual tea set. The shape is pretty retro, although the wooden handles maybe look a bit old fashioned, and could definitely do with sand and a varnish. But the handle on the milk jug is just great! Obviously the set’s got a bit of age to it, and some of the pieces are a bit tired looking, like the lid on the sugar bowl which is quite badly scratched. But it’s such an interesting set, and on the whole, not in too bad a nick!
