Contemporary Anthony Shapiro Bowls (Pair)

I’m always amazed when I see hand made ceramics as delicate as these Anthony Shapiro bowls – it really does take some serious skill to work with pottery as fine as this! Looking at the damage to this pair of ANT bowls, I have to assume that they’re factory rejects – there are parts of the bowls which have been covered in an almost glossy varnish, presumably to cover up the damage, which has also been painted over – and that’s what makes me think that the repairs must have been done  in the factory, because the colour is a really good match, something most people wouldn’t be able to do. But while it looks like the bowls have been repaired, it’s definitely not the first thing that you notice – they’re still a very attractive (and completely functional) pair that will look absolutely fabulous on your dinner table or on display in your kitchen!
