I’m actually not sure if all of these are really ashtrays – the little modern white square bowls might actually be for something else entirely (the indentation could be for a teaspoon), but they could definitely be used as ashtrays – or dip bowls, whatever suits you. That being said the small enamel ashtrays and the yellow ceramic ashtray were definitely made for cigarettes, there’s no disputing that. My favourites are probably the little Dutch ‘Edy’ washing machine dishes (aren’t they so cool?), but the South African Zaalberg Pottery ashtray is also fantastic!
