I have dreams of the most wonderful retirement where I get to read all the fantastic art and architecture books that we have on our bookshelf, but that’s a loooong way off, so hopefully someone out there is better at managing their life than I am and will make the time to read today’s fantastic art books! The two older books (my favourites of course) were published by Time-Life in the 1970s, and are quite beautifully produced. I particularly like the World of Duchamp, which has some great illustrations of his work, although American Paintings also features some really interesting images. The three newer books on Max Ernst, René Magritte and Amedeo Modigliani were published by Taschen in the 1990s, and form part of their Basic Art Series, a collection of 200 titles covering the who’s who of art history, architecture, and design.
Note: All of the books have some wear, but are in reasonably good condition for their age
