Ceramic Boat Vase

I see these vintage boat vases relatively often, but try to be selective in the ones I buy. This, slightly smaller version, is also a bit more delicate than these vases tend to be. There’s no maker’s stamp on the base, but whoever made it did a fine job of ensuring the walls of the vase are nice and thin – generally the sign of a good potter. There’s a small patch on the base where the glaze didn’t take properly (see photos), but no actual damage.

A lovely piece to add to a collection of vintage boat vases.
