Whoever used to own these bone china cake plates clearly love them dearly because it’s clear that they’ve been very well used! The minty green glaze has worn through in patches (unfortunately not visible in the photos), and the gold trim is a bit tired looking – but so would you be after nearly 90 years in service! The maker’s mark on these E Brain & Co Ltd plates (working out of Foley Works in Fenton) was first used in 1930, which potentially means that our china plates will be hitting the 100 year mark in the not too distant future! So I think we can forgive them a bit of wear and tear, don’t you?
Dimensions: Each plate measures 16cm in diameter
