Bodum Vacuum Coffee Maker

I had to keep my excitement under wraps when I spotted this mint condition Bodum ‘Santos’ vacuum coffee maker the other day – not from the seller, but from my husband! Years ago he had a very similar Cona coffee maker that I managed to break, so when I spotted this Bodum version I thought he might decide he needed it, despite us having a massive commercial machine in our kitchen! I sound like an awful wife don’t I, but we really don’t need another coffee pot!

Luckily good sense prevailed and he allowed me to hold onto it. These vacuum coffee makers are pretty darn rare (this is the first time I’ve spotted one since I broke Justin’s about three years ago), and pretty pricey – you can still buy the Bodum vacuum coffee maker (overseas, not in SA) for around R1000.
