I grew up with my gran using glass teacups (she was a very sophisticated lady!), so I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for glass tea and coffee cups, which is why I bought this set of mugs – that and the fact that they’re made by Bodum. And within half an hour of buying the cups I found this Bodum Chambord teapot – it was meant to be! Even more exciting is that the teapot is listed as one of the top ten teapots by the Independent in the UK – supposedly the wide inner sleeve allows for maximum flavour when brewing your leaves! Obviously this set doesn’t have a lot of age to it, in fact you can still buy the teapot new. This version sells for new for around R600 out the box, but they also make beautiful copper and stainless steel versions that go for in the region of R2000!
Note: The plastic on one or two of the mugs has yellowed slightly with age
