Despite the Murano maker’s sticker on this vase, I’m a bit reticent to label this as a piece of Italian glass. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very handsome vase (with the most beautiful coloured glass!), but the finish just doesn’t look like what you would expect from a piece of Murano glass. I’ve seen a few pieces of Sergio Talanti glass over the years, and it always has the same look to it – quite contemporary, without the drama you normally see with Murano glass . There’s a good chance of course that the glass is from Italy, but it may be that it’s mass produced glassware, as opposed to the mouth blown glass that Murano is so famous for. Regardless, it’s is still a very attractive vase that’s in near mint condition, so not a lot to complain about really!
