I think this Beswick pot plant holder has a lovely shape to it! I think it’s probably art deco in style, but the design could so easily be contemporary – although there’s no mistaking this for a new piece because of the amount of crazing there is. I don’t thikn the wear matters too much though – while it’s not really hidden, it also doen’t shout out at you, and definitely won’t be that noticeable once you have a pot plant in it. The glaze on the base of the pot has also started to peel – it must have had a varnish of sorts over the glaze, because when we cleaned it it started to lift – and long with it, came the makers stamp. I know that it was stamped Beswick when I bought it because the dealer pointed it out to me, but the stamp has now vanished, so I can only assuem it came off with the varnish.
