Beehive Clamp Lamp

R290.00

I’ve only ever seen one of these fantastic beehive lamps before, and it was in a friend’s apartment. She was devastated when I pointed out that the glass was cracked – she said she’d paid a fortune for it, and looking online its seems that they do sell for a pretty penny! There aren’t too many of them for sale, but the ones that I could find were selling for $75 for a single lamp or $350 for a pair! That’s quite a whack! This is the only pink version that I found – I wonder if it was meant for a little girl’s room, although I suppose pink was a pretty popular colour in the fifties, so it might not have been restricted to children. As far as I can tell these lamps were designed to sit atop headboards, with a fish-eye lens creating a kind of spotlight effect, but there’s nothing stopping you from perching it on the edge of your desk or bedside pedestal.

A super quirky lamp that would make a great conversation piece – I can tell you that it was the first thing I spoke about when I spotted it at my friend’s house!

P.S. To insert a bulb just unscrew the front part of the lamp – easy-peasy!
